Who we are not. A word of caution about plagiarism

Film Transfer operates exclusively from Lower Hutt CBD. We are not responsible for any look alike websites, trading names or copy-cat services provided in New Zealand. Our film scanners are purposely engineered to the highest optical resolution to exceed the HD standards and the poor quality offered by other film scanning companies in New Zealand.

Some companies have bought “off-the-shelf” cheap scanners and are now limited to only producing DVDs or trying to upscale “low quality scans” to HD. This is nothing short of dishonest and you will be disappointed. The best idea would be to compare their methods with those offered by Film Transfer. Ensure you check their scanning process when you ask for transfer details and costs. If you are not sure about the quality of the scan, please give us a call on 0800 433 456 and we will offer free advice.

An idea of the cost involved

Every film is a different case. Depending on its age, if it is Kodachrome, Agfachrome, Ektachrome, negative, if you want archive files, blurays, with or without colour correction etc.

Few lines can’t cover the all process involved. Either you can browse our website or email us and we will send you links and technical details.

Filmtransfer has been a leading company in HD digitisation of amateur and professional film formats for the last 15 years. We have developed advanced in-house hardware and software solutions to provide with superior quality film transfer.

Over the years developers of open source software have contributed and tailored for us specific applications originally dedicated to microscopy and medical imagery to the small gauge films

We have been able to restore hundreds of kilometers of films from the early 1930s to the latest Kodak Vision 3 negative films.
